Introspection Wk 2

So it's been a very busy week for me. I've been working a ton of overtime. It's easily a 50-60 hour a week job right now...But I really don't mind the hours, I enjoy what I do. The only bad part is having to be away from the family that much longer!
I thought for a bit on this weeks song choice, it was a tough decision...there were a ton I was debating on. But I finally chose "Shadowfeet" by Brooke Fraser. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do!
I bought this album when it came out, and I LOVE it! The whole cd is awesome. She has such an amazing voice, it's very fresh and her songwriting ability is phenominal. I highly recommend buying it!

WEEK 2

"Shadowfeet" by Brooke Fraser

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
toward home, a land that i've never seen
I am changing: less and less asleep
made of different stuff than when i began
and i have sensed it all along
fast approaching is the day

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
when the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you

Theres distraction buzzing in my head
saying in the shadows it's easier to stay
but I've heard rumours of true reality
whispers of a well-lit way

You make all things new

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you

Stirred By Songs

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Ever since I was a little girl, I've had a burning passion for music. As far back as I can remember, I have always be drawn to a harmony, a melody, a song. I would listen so intently, taking in every note, every word, every beat. I would think about it; what it meant to the musician, what it meant to me, what the inspiration was. Many times throughout my life, music has helped me to make it through tough times, helped me to understand things; it has celebrated along side me, cried with me, hurt with me, and fought with me. I never thought I could ever be more passionate about music. Until I was saved.

Becoming a child of God puts so many things into perspective for a person. And the world is veiwed in a whole new light. I've fallen in love all over again. A song can do so much for a person. But listening to music now is even more intent, more meaningful. I've always been the person who memorizes the words to a song after hearing it once or twice. That's just how I feel it. Someone once said "Music is the sound of feelings". I don't think people take enough time to really listen to a song, to get to know it, to become part of it for that brief moment in time, and to ponder what it means to them. When I listen to a song, especially a song of praise and worship, I live that song. I stop that moment in time inside my heart and feel it. How fortunate to be able to sing with grace to The Lord, praising Him for His glory. I am saved by grace, and He has given me all that I have.

I challenge all of you who read this to take the time to get into the music you hear. What moves you? How do you feel? Does a song have so much emotion that it brings you to tears? Weekly I will be choosing a song that I adore, that moves me; and I will post the lyrics and info in my blog. I also challenge you to listen to that song. Feel it and understand it, find out what it means to you. Find a way to praise Him for your blessings or to pray because of the meaning of that song.

Much Love

WEEK 1

"Healing Hand Of God" by Jeremy Camp

I have seen the many faces of fear and of pain I have watched the tears fall plenty from heart ache and strain. So if life's journey has you weary and afraid There's rest in the shadow of his wings.

I have walked through the valleys, the mountains and plains. I have held the hand of freedom, it washes all my stains. If you feel the weight of many trials, and burdens from this world. There's freedom in the shelter of the Lord.

Chorus: I have seen,The healing hand of God, Reaching out and mending broken hearts. Taste and see the fullness of His peace, And hold on to what's being held out The healing hand of God.

I have touched the scars upon His hands, To see if they were real. He has walked the road before me, He knows just how I feel. When you feel there is not anyone, Who understands your pain, Just remember all of Jesus' suffering

Cast all your cares on Him, For He cares for you. He's near to the broken and confused. By His stripes, Our spirit is renewed. So enter in the joy prepared for you.

The healing hand of God

And hold on to what's being held out
